This Weber, born in 1973 in Zurich, trained mechanic, studied jewelry and industrial design at Zurich University of the Arts.
In Spring 2010, This Weber opened his studio in Zurich to work for several national and international clients. Since autumn 2010, he teaches furniture design as visiting lecturer in the faculty Design & Art at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art.
The wooden chair collection <<Scarlet>>, he designed for Accademia, has been presented during last year‘s Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. The spreading backrest ears are the key features of this chair.
This Weber always attempts that the things he designs appear simple even if they are not. “My goal is to give objects a recognizable value, which is perceived intuitively by the user,” he explains.
Before This Weber set up his studio, he worked at Haeberli Marchand Product Development (Zurich), in the product development at Gebrüder Tonet GmbH (Frankenberg D) and Christophe Marchand Product Development (Zurich).
Since 2004, he was in charge of the furniture design department at Hannes Wettstein’s design agency, last as a member of the board.
